This website is to display Worcestershire based photographer John Wilson & his two sons Andrew & Richard's collection of photographs of British Railways locomotives from when John started snapping engines in his early teens to the present day.
John Wilson, was born in 1955 in the West Midlands & grew up in Bromsgrove at the foot of the Lickey where he spent most of his time as a lad. His interest in British Railways has never wained since his dad took him to see the final years of steam and his photo collection shows the hallmarks of a well travelled enthusiast through the 70's, 80's & 90's. Myself (his son Richard) & my brother, his eldest son Andrew have taken photographs at various locations since our dad invested in a video camera in 1989 bringing modern traction & liveries to the collection. This isnt a collection of 'perfect weather' photographs, its more for the place in history of the photograph than the quality, though you are welcome to vote them up or down if you wish.
Also have a look at the Lickey Incline fotopic site 'Lickey Archive Photobook' where there are more photo's by John Wilson aswel as other contributors. See link below. Thanks for visiting, i hope you enjoy the flashbacks to the glory days of BR! |
